[Baird.FTW] [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 16, Ed. 1, Tree #0097, Date of Import: Sep 19 , 1999] Two sons of John Baird, Andrew and Zebulon, moved to North Carolina, about 1755 or later. Zebulon married and among his descendants was Zebulon Baird Vance, the noted Governor of the State. Dar National #619967, El Palo Ch pter, Palo Alto, Ca.(7-032-Ca) Bible record for this line gives male descend ants only no wives of siblings. Zebulon was in Rowan County NC by 1776 as sh own by deeds there, some signes by Zebulon, some by Lydia. He deeded land to Landrine Eggers and Daniel Eggers, his half brother of step brothers. By 17 88 he was in Wilkes County NC ( Wilkes County Census 1790). Wilkes was cut from Rowan. In 1787 he was given power of attorney by Andrew Baird, probably his brother. (Wilkes County Will Book 1, pg. 238 Witness: Ezekiel Baird) . By 1799 this family was in Sumner county TN where several of them signed a petition about county lines.
