Import: Sep 19 , 1999] Zebulon represented Buncombe Co., in N.C.
State legisture, lower house , a term or two, and six or seven
terms in the Senate. He first entered the legisture in 1803.
Zebulon and bother Bedent donated land for a courthouse and
public square which now stands a monument to one of Zebulon's
grandsons, Zebulon Baird Vance, first Governor of N.C. and a
U.S. Senator. Zebulon's o ld log house was constructed with loop
holes as it was to be used as a blockh ouse. It was two and a
half miles north of Ashville, but is now on one of th e
principal streets. Zebulon-Hannah Erwin were grandparents of
Zebulon Baird V ance, Governor of NC.
