Import: Sep 19 , 1999] 1773-Oct-11 BAIRD, Andrew, Freehold,
Monmouth Co. Wife, Sarah Compto n, to have a comfortable
living out of the estate given to my sons, Obadiah and
Jonathan. Eldest son, Bedent, 20 shillings. Son Barzillai, the
land la te the property of Thomas Bullman, and he is to pay off
the bonds, due to Pet ers Bowne's estate, to Joseph Bowne and
John Vanbrockle. Son, Obadiah, the s outh part of my land, and
son, Jonathan, the rest. Son, Samuel, f150, as he and his
family may want it. Son, Ezekiel, f150. Money due me from my
sons, Bedent and John to go to pay legacies. Executors - son,
Jonathan, and Peter Schenck, son of Koert. Witnesses -
Jonathan Bowne, Zebulon Baird, Nathaniel Scudder. Proved
October 21, 1773. [NJA, Vol. 34, pg.28.] This is found rec
orded in "Venables of England & America", Kansas Historical
Society BBB V551. [Andrew Baird and his brother, Zebulon, moved
to Buck County, N.C. about 17 55, or later. Andrew and his son
Matthew represented Burke County in both br anches of the
Legislature several times. He and all his family, except daugh
ter Evaline, moved to north Mississippi. Source : "The Baird
