It is noted that on 25 May 1794, John and Elisabetha Hager of Washington Co, MD, sold land to John Miller, of Washington Co, the land being known as "Volton's Lease". (That was probably John Hager, son of David and Katherine Kerschner Hager.) Barbara and her husband John had already left Washington Co for Franklin Co, PA. Perhaps John Miller was her father.

He was a Revolutionary War Veteran.

He was made guardian of Michael Hager, orphan, one of the heirs of Michael Hager (dec'd in 1781). Bond signed by John Weeks who later married Hannah Cellar, widow of Michael Hager, Sr.

Johannes made a good business by serving as guardian for many children of several local families: Creamer, Laudeberger, Ridenour.

Some of his descendants are reported to be in Indiana and Kentucky; not verified.

The Salem Reformed Church is near Cearfoss, Washington Co, MD. He is buried there, age 58 years, with 6 graves but no stones visible.

His will, written in German, was executed on Mar 22, 1808, and probated May 10, 1808.

His estate was settled on Apr 1, 1810.
